Happy New Year, “It’s Time” Chapter 3
Ecclesiastes 3:2b “...a time to plant and a time to uproot.”
For several years, I have been trying to grow plants, buy plants, flowers, and seeds. The life-line in the green plants was refreshing to see and look at. Then they went soaring in the hanging planters I made for them. Every time I left my desk, my head would hit the planter, then my robe belt whirled another pot. Soon after, I replaced these plants with bulbed, flowers and began an herb garden with a 5 lb. bag of soil. It was too big and I gave it to someone. I had missed my former herb garden that was on the counter growing before I left to go out of town. Shucks, this had dried up but the kit had worked. Through a few of these processes my grandmother may have asked, “Kim, what are you doing?” My answer was working with plants or simply, nothing. So far, I have one piece of an Ivy left, I started them in water, then I shifted it to a small container. While they were still alive, they were fragile. It’s time, “a time to plant and a time to uproot,” Ecclesiastes 3:2b. What did I decide? I made some temporary paper flowers.

January prompts us to jump start our lives in a beneficial way, whether challenging to start or a breeze. “You can either walk a mile or wait for someone to walk a mile with you.” In other words, if you intentionally want to do something, noting if you don’t start, you may never finish or accomplish the task intended.
In walking in obedience to God we have to organize, plan, and complete checklists that bring value and completion to our lives. This may take a day or a year, but it becomes activated. We may have to let some things go such as cooking too much, versus preparing some foods at home. Remember, some microwavable frozen foods can be baked in the oven. A soup and sandwich, or soup and salad can be a nice exchange to washing too many pots and pans, or not spreading the weekly grocery list too expansively.
It’s time to be consistent in keeping a biblical message to guide daily activities, throughout the year. The word of God encourages, motivates, as it takes root in the mind, activates inspiration to persevere through expected and unexpected experiences.
God bless,
