Hopefully, during the summer you will pick up a good book, magazine, or pamphlet and read something enjoyable. If you can't stop by the bookstore, maybe there's a neighborhood library in your city. Now, let me get back to the good book. When asking someone in general about what they consider a good book would be, unending answers might be characterized. If you ask a regular committed church member, what is a known by the expression, “the good book,” most will probably say the Holy Bible or the Bible. It's a term that is commonly used.
Reading the Bible is a good practice and discipline. This practice gives insight to areas of daily living while supplying building blocks for developing a stronger relationship with God. A few ways to a better understanding of the scripture verses of the Bible is to:
1) Read the Holy Bible beginning in the New Testament
2) Add a daily devotional and/or Commentary to your daily reading. For example—Bible Gateway is a good resource.
3) Attend classes at a local church or ask a Christian to suggest where they can access a class Sunday or during the week.
4) Request some reading materials from Billy Graham’s organization.
These are a few suggestions to enhance your daily experience with God. Often, persons are afraid to approach the mysterious word of God, it seeming like, just an old classic literature book of disinterest, but when one experiences the God of the Bible, this will be a life that has been changed and touched by God.
