Where is My Easter Basket?

Where's my Easter basket? Generally people may not wake up on Resurrection Sunday and shout this but the personal question may be on their tongue and in their minds. As a child I used to love having a decorative basket of all kinds of colorful candy along with the grand chocolate bunny rabbit. Yes, there has to be a chocolate rabbit in somebody's basket. In today's time so many thoughts on the Easter basket and the resurrection of Christ who was crucified. Doe the candy, basket, and name in itself dismiss the reverence and rule, along with the resurrection event. Based on theology passages in history and intent with content, it does not. Many years ago the content of origin was explained thoroughly by the pastor growing up in the Church. When biblical content and themes seem compromising to Christians and others, there should be research to have clarity about the concepts of biblical essentials validated by scripture and theological knowledge.
"Where is my Easter basket? This question says to me,"Where is my Jesus?" There is a time where this thought has to be posed through growth and discipleship in a personal faith walk with God. Some may think the Easter basket and egg hunts are unimportant and distracts from the ultimate event of Resurrection Sunday, but the Cruxifixion event and the intent and action of this ultimate sacrifice saved us all from sin and death. Jesus died and rose from the grave. This event is recorded and recognized by the world whether there is an acknowledgement of who He is to them or not. This action of Jesus, of Christ, laying down His life was a greater love to know.
Confession of faith allows for Christians, people of God to live and have a provisional life representing the blessing and favor God gives and extends. I never met a person who did not want to hear of the land of milk and honey, God's grace in Salvation. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Everlasting life. When it is time and when individualized earthly time ends there should be a rejoicing in eternal life with God one day, but at Easter there is a rejoicing of the Savior Jesus. He Rose from the dead and got up. This is good news. I wrote a song years ago called, "Good News, I am Spreading the News," the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we can get in the way of a person hearing the gospel, good news in accepting or extending an invitation to have a relationship with Him.
As a child I delighted in getting an Easter basket; I delighted in eating or sharing every morsel of candy. The position I take on the Easter basket is to not make it More than Jesus, more than the perspective it should have. At this time I believe it is important to see Jesus as being the Way, Truth, and, the Life. As a Christian I have a future hope and a current destiny as Christ Lives. He is alive. And, where is my basket? My basket in my faith is to accept and regard the love of God in Jesus' name, relate to God daily, and know what He desires for me to do in this life and world.
What is in my Easter Basket today? Prayer, peace and praise.
Be inspired.
